The old methods are great. Starting in the back of his barn in rural Ohio, John had nothing more than some corn, a popcorn popper, and some butter. Let’s face it, it isn’t very hard to make popcorn. Popcorn is… well, popcorn. But John had an epiphany. Actually, it was more of giant accident. But he likes to call it his great idea.

In an explosion of wood and hay a spaceship crashed into the very barn where John was popping his corn. The crash threw John to the ground and the candy bar he was snacking on fell into the popcorn popper! An alien emerged. He was dressed like Elvis (the alien thought that was normal for this planet, based on his research of television transmissions). He demanded a sampling of the Earth’s food. Poor John gazed at the melting, popping combination of popcorn and chocolate and promptly thrust it toward the extraterrestrial traveler. The Alien popped the popcorn into his mouth. Then he ate another and then another – he devoured the chocolate popcorn and announced that it was the very best he had eaten on any world.

Where, The Alien asked, had John discovered the rare and amazing ability to mix popcorn with chocolate. John said it was a startling revelation that only had happened recently – and that he was anxious to try it himself. Here, try this, The Alien said, producing cheese made from a cow from his home planet. John, popped the corn and cheese together and The Alien and John shared another incredible flavor sensation.

Now, John was getting full and started thinking of going to bed, but The Alien had a better idea. Why don’t we travel to the distant reaches of the universe to find the most exceptional flavors to mix with your popcorn? John hadn’t ever been into space on a spaceship before, so he was a little nervous, but The Alien danced a little jig in his blue-pseudo-suede shoes and started talking about the possibilities: cherry, pumpkin spice, caramel with nuts and sour cream and chives. Why the possibilities are endless, exclaimed The Alien!

With that, John and The Alien (who’s real name was actually Stanley from the planet Zea Mays Everta) left on a mission to find the best popcorn flavors in the universe. With that mission completed, John and Stanley founded Popcorn Universe to share their incredible popcorn with anyone who wants it.
